You keep saying SunFinch kits which I love but genuinely curious: would they be theirs biologically with or without the help of a sire or foundlings or some other third thing?
A sire is easy enough since Sunbeam has a willing brother (Spireclaw). But also Sunbeam is trans anyway. She's got this.
#Frostpaw is also trans#And Nightheart is an egg#I have not been able to stop rotating transfem Nightheart who transfem Sunbeam haplessly follows out of ShadowClan because--#--she knows that NightHRT transitioning alone would be a category 9#Along with other reasons ofc but that's too funny#A Starless Clan more like A Spironolactone Clan lmao#Bone babble

(Wanna preface this with i really don't care about Nightheart's character, and add that i am trans and do NOT see the trans reading for his character.)
I'm 99% sure a lot of peoples dislike for Nightheart is absolutely just because of his legacy arc being odd and also his weird hatred of most of the women in his life.
Nightheart is not the only Firestar descendant. There are so many cats related and descended from Firestar it's not even funny. Placing all of Firestar's expectations on Nightheart alone makes absolutely no sense. Do you wanna know which cat DID have that lined up for them, only for their entire character to go no where?
Sparkpelt.
Nightheart's own mother. Who looks EXACTLY like Firestar, was born not long after he died, and who's Clanmates even said they thought she'd be named SparkFIRE, for goodness sake. She was a prodigy in AVOS, it was half the reason Alderheart was so bitter with her and yet... nothing happened.
Her character as a prodigy vanished not long after becoming a warrior. She snarked back at the imposter, defended her mother, almost died to dogs, had kids and then had to watch her mate and one of said kids die right in front of her. She went through Post Partum for like. maybe a month. she was BANISHED for a period of time, something out of her control, which Nightheart fully blames her for and claims she "abandoned him".
Nightheart's entire arc just... doesn't make sense. I don't get people claiming the trans angle either, because he just doesn't like his name. That's it. Cis People very frequently don't like their names, get their names changed, ect. They can have dead names. that is not exclusively a "Trans thing". His arc is just a mess and honestly we could've had this whole arc without it and it'd be fine. Up until his little quest with Frostpaw he does NOTHING to add to the plot or story progression. Even then, it could've been Frostpaw's pov anyways!
Nightheart just... isn't interesting. He's another boring male protag who we're supposed to pity and worship despite him doing fuck all when there are multiple other protags who are so much more interesting but get pushed to the side bc man pain is more important.

What about your favorite Warriors relationships? (Can be platonic, familial, romantic or otherwise)
i've actually had this ask half-answered in my drafts for like. literal years maybe LOL im so sorry anon i completely forgot about it But! in that amount of time some new books came out so i got new characters to add to the list at least!
(mild disclaimer I always kinda hesitate with questions like this because I think my memory of the books canon isn't great and i worry my perception is too coloured by whatever bits i come across in fanworks orz but thats ok canon character interactions are p sparse anyways lol)
mothpool! platonic is v sweet but romantic is soo good; ever since i saw the po3 au where trans moth is the three's parents instead of crow is WOAGH so cool!! Because Moth being the mother adds SO much to the canon narrative cause BAM lion is now related to tigerstar BAM jay's fear of water but also having a riverclan parent + he's a med cat like his two moms BAM holly's relationship with her apprentice willowshine could easily extend to unknowingly having a relationship Moth who's her mother n feeling triple betrayed!!!! +that time she snuck into riverclan camp!! n its fun how the two med cat moms ended up having both holly and jay wander down the med cat route
flipclaw and feather in greystripe’s vow was rlly makin me go 👀 👀 ‘is he .. y’know...’ fjsdklgh
platonic holly/fallen leaves is sweet (tho i don't actually remember that much from holly's novella despite her being my fav character lmao)
curlfeather and frostpaw familial angst is so juicy tasty yummy yummy
i think i read a post somewhere abt how its likely Silverstream named stormfur after her father crookedstar's old name which made me go waaaaaagh 🥺
im also a bit of a romantic crow/squirrel fan hehe tho platonic crow/squirrel is soooo soo good too. the banter. the disdain. the im going to fucking kill you if you die on me right now.
and recently in ivypool's heart the familial/platonic icewing+dovewing+ivypool+whistlepaw+rootspring group is kinda cute... 3 moms a child and a random guy lmao
omg mousefur and longtail. not rlly romantic to me, queerplatonic at most. they are funny little guys hanging out and talking abt life
AH WHISTLEPAW AND FROSTPAW WLW
#anon#ask#ppmpost#wc#warrior cats#i keep thinkin im missin ones... ah the list is long enough as it is

any plans for Fernsong?
I do have some plans for Fernsong, seeing as he will not be Ivypool's mate anymore!
He is a big player in The Thunder Rebellion, and gets quite the scar from the ensuing battle on his left shoulder. He got that from Finleap! His ears also get shredded by one of Splashstar's enforcers during Dark Times, and is in the group that Frostpaw builds to try and bring Splashstar down.
He gets his own short story book with his sisters, Sorrelstripe and Strawberrytuft as part of the Missing Moons collection, a "What happened in between The Last Hope/The Hopeless Storm and A Vision Of Shadows?" He is close with his mentor Rosepetal, and learns to be gentle but firm from her.
He has a mate, Volefern, a reddish brown spotted tabby trans tom with short, sleek fur, amber eyes, a long tail, and long whiskers. Mistleberry (Speckletail's daughter) and Stempelt's (Runningwind and Redtail's son) had him, and his brother Frogsong.
Though Volefern gets pregnant, the ferocious cat is still determined to be a warrior. When Volefern gives birth, Fernsong steps in and is the queen of the litter, seen comforting their two lovely children, Eaglekit and Meltkit.
Meltkit transitions during his Apprenticeship to become Shellpaw!
He is incredibly close with his kids, and regularly protects them. During Lost Stars, he is seen doting on Eaglewing, who caught a cold. He and Shellfur have a MASSIVE falling out during TBC when Shellfur supports Bramblefake. Shellfur is insecure about himself, as he has a friend in Riverclan (Cypresswind, the saved Cypresspaw) and he doesn't want to get in trouble for being friends with her. He shoots down their friendship and gets into a huge public fight with his dad about the codebreakers.
Fernsong fights for the rebels, getting a huge scar on his shoulder from Finleap, one of Bramblefake's biggest supporters. He recovers well though!
But... I can't say he'll be having a good time during A Starless Clan, or Dark Times.
The end of A Starless Clan has a patrol of cats, lead by his daughter Eaglewing, against this fake "Splashstar". He is a threat to other cats who do not meet his standards, and will kill any cat who displeases him, showing his loyal followers with glory and power... He needs to go.
Eaglewing manages to grapple him, holding on tight as Splashstar thrashes around, rolling to try and get her off, but Eaglewing does not yield. She reaches around and sinks her teeth into the side of his neck. A messy kill, but at least it's over.
Eaglewing stands over him for a moment before she declares his death. At last, this faker is gone, and Riverclan can have a proper leader that actually has the blessing of 9-
Splashstar moves as quick as lightning and slits Eaglewing's throat.
Guess he wasn't lying.
The war begins with Splashstar and Berrystar as its main opponents versus Skyclan, Windclan and Thunderclan. Sure, it's 2 v 3, but the others don't have leaders themselves, and Skyclan is on the verge of civil war due to now having 2 deputies.
Things get even worse for poor Fernsong when he and his husband fight during the war against Riverclan and Shadowclan.
His ears are shredded by Duskfur, though he does give her quite the scar on her left cheek!
When their beloved daughter-in-law Fernstripe is targeted by Berrystar personally, Volefern dives in and attacks her, ripping her ear terribly before Berrystar slashes his belly and chest. Volefern bleeds out, and Fernsong takes one of Berrystar's lives.
He is deeply saddened by the loss of his mate and husband, but he feels a tad better when Fernstripe gives birth to her and Shellfur's kits. 3 daughters and a son.
Fernsong feels like his family is going to be okay, like even with all the tragedy, there can still be hope, and for him, that hope lives in his grandchildren.
Runningkit, Dragonflykit, Lavenderkit, and Volekit.

my opinions on random “a starless clan” cats as i just finished river
thunderclan
-Nightheart: the angry mommy issues man himself. love him. this is probably the closest we’ll get to a trans character in warriors. also surprised no one mentioned Bristlefrost when he failed his assessments as i remember Bristlefrost failing at least once. they could’ve made a good connection there.
-Honeyfur: pretty design i think, got salty at twigbranch once and haven’t heard from her before or since.
-Bayshine: a sweetie, good brother-ish figure for Nightheart in my opinion.
-Shellfur: never knew much of anything about him but yay he’s got a gf now. happy for him.
-Bramblestar: just step down already man. (i know he does, i can’t wait till i get to it).
-Squirrelflight: can’t wait till i get to Squirrelstar!!
-Bumblestripe: a jerk as always.
-Finchlight: a lil too over enthusiastic about the “greatness” of thunderclan. really shows how arrogant they can be tbh.
-Ivypool: wish i heard more from her.
-Fernsong: i wish we saw more of Fernsong with Ivypool. or any Fernsong at all tbh.
-Sparkpelt: i’m not really sure how to feel about her and her relationship with Nightheart. it’s definitely interesting though and something new.
-Cloudtail: him as an elder is amazing.
shadowclan
-Berryheart: Spireclaw’s relationship with her hits too close to home. all i gotta say. also (proceeds to say more anyway) totally Mother Gothel-coded, there’s a pmv of her with “Mother Knows Best” that fits so well. “i’m your mother, and i know you better than you know yourself” (226).
-Sparrowtail: i kinda like how he sorta initially was on Berryheart’s side but now he’s really uncertain about her beliefs. interesting in seeing more about this relationship.
-Spireclaw: love him!! a sweetie! wanna see more of him and Fringewhisker. also interested in the tension with him and Berryheart over this. lowkey kin him.
-Dovewing: she’s not deputy, but i see her as sort of like a clan “princess”, y’know?
-Sunbeam: relate to her a lil, also i think she has the cutest name ever. at first i thought her unrequited crush on Blazefire felt like a repeat of Bristlefrost and Stemleaf but at least Stemleaf was nice. Blazefire was straight up gaslighting her about being concerning about Lightleap “pffft she’s fine bro you’re not the clan leader” aughhh
-Blazefire: this is why you don’t do friends with benefits guys.
-Lightleap: augh she’s so terrible but i love her at the same time. i love how a protagonist’s sibling can finally be explored upon with how the previous events from the broken code affect her psychologically. doing a psychoanalysis on her hehe.
-Gullswoop: haha just a gal who loves gossip. glad a she-cat background character can actually have a personality now.
-Pouncestep: wish we heard more from her tbh. there’s shadowsight obviously and now the whole lightleap thing but we don’t know much about Pouncestep or how things have affected her. she’s just kinda.. there.
skyclan
-Leafstar: please just let her rest. i’m begging.
-Hawkwing: i want him to be leader already, i feel like he would be a good leader with all the character development he’s had in his super edition.
-Fidgetflake: his name is so cute i love him. don’t hear from him at all though really, i just like his name.
-Uhhhh that’s about all the skyclan cats we hear from.
windclan
-Hootwhisker: bro really just yeeted himself over a stream into thunderclan territory for a vole.
-Whistlepaw: she’s so sweet i love her. please Erins let Whistlepaw and Frostpaw be together. please. please. i’ll give you all my warriors plushies.
-Crouchfoot: i know absolutely nothing about him but i just thought that’s a kinda funny name.
-Songleap: what.. is a.. song ..leap..?? how do songs…. you know what, nevermind.
-Fernstripe: with her and Fringewhisker, and also Dovewing from before, i’m really noticing a trend with typically she-cats leaving their clans for toms. not sure how i feel about that.
riverclan
-Splashtail: a nefarious lil guy from what i’ve heard? very interested to see more of him, he reminds me a lot of Hawkfrost. i also have a suspicion that he faked the curled feather sign on page 215. i mean, Frostpaw went with just Splashtail and she heard someone walking around above the moonpool then finds the feather on the path. is it a fake sign did bro just pull a Hawkfrost. —or what if the sign was real but meant for Icewing, as it was a white feather, and that night Frostpaw dreamed about the feathers turning into “birds, whirling around her head like a blizzard” (219).
-Owlnose: just a silly lil guy.
-Mistystar: was arguing and literally fell and died. best death ever. rip the queen.
-Duskfur: still mad at her over Mistystar’s death tbh.
-Reedwhisker: poor man. all i gotta say.
-Havenpelt: i just like her name.
-Mothwing: if anything happens to her, Blixemi is gonna lose it.
-Icewing: haha Wings of Fire name.
-Curlfeather: such a pretty name tbh. she seemed so sweet but i heard she’s actually evil? interested to learn more in the next books. it may make sense, she seemed a little overbearing at times, maybe a cover? also Curlfeather suggesting Frostpaw goes to her den and Frostpaw immediately finding the 5-pointed dock leaf sign there (124-125) is kinda suspicious, i feel like she might’ve faked a sign.
-Jayclaw: died of “unknown causes” is a lil suspicious. right after Curlfeather mentions his death, the book says “a heartbeat later Curlfeather went on more briskly-” (18) and she changes the topic. i’m wondering if Curlfeather killed him after maybe he disagreed with her evil plans? could’ve pulled a Hollyleaf and killed him to keep him mute.
-Frostpaw: poor lil fluffy kid is traumatized, i just wanna give her a big hug.
-overall, this book was amazing and so far i might like this arc even better than the broken code, we’ll have to see

warrior cats lgbt headcanons
I'm bored so here's my lgbt headcanons of every warrior cats protagonist!! also some other cats who i think are important in the first arc bc of how few protags we get
Prophecies Begin
Firestar : pansexual, he/they, cis Greystripe : bisexual (strong female pref), he/him, cis Ravenpaw : Gay, he/him but tries out bug/bugs, unlabelled gender
New Prophecy
Squirrelflight : queer, she/he, might be a trans man if she thought about it long enough Brambleclaw : the only one that i think is cishet. uncertain whether he is cishetallo or not though, he might be asexual spectrum Tawnypelt : t4t queer, she/it, intersex and transfem Feathertail : asexual lithoromantic lesbian, she/ae/bright, girlflux Stormfur : unlabelled, any pronouns (he/him pref), cis man Crowfeather : Trixic, they/them, nonbinary Leafpool : Bisexual, she/her, cis Power of Three
Lionblaze : cishetallo Hollyleaf : asexual greyromantic lesbian, she/they, demi-girl Jayfeather : oriented aroace gay, star/they/he, doesn't care to think about his gender but uses moonguardian, moonboy and starryghostic.
Omen of the Stars
Dovewing : Omnisexual (male pref) and probably aroace spectrum but she is scared of acknowledging that, she/her, cis Ivypool : Sapphic demiromantic, she/it/claw, nonbinary girl Flametail (he counts <3) : Aroace, he/him, trans man Vision of Shadows
Alderheart : Pansexual, he/him, cis Needletail : Heterosexual? aromantic, she/her, transmasc nonbinary girl Twigbranch : Asexual unlabelled, they/she, gender questioning Violetshine : Lesbian, she/ze, trans girl
The Broken Code Shadowsight : Asexual nebularomantic gay, he/it/they/xe, agender Rootspring : Asexual heteroromantic, he/him, unlabelled Bristlefrost : Bisexual (no pref), any pronouns, intersex A Starless Clan Nightheart : Lesbian, she/her, trans girl Sunbeam : Lesbian, he/they, butch (only comes out after leaving ShadowClan) Frostpaw : Lesbian with the worst case of comphet you've ever seen (do you notice a theme with this arc.), they/she but probably only keeping the she/her to make others happy, genderqueer
Dawn of the Clans Grey Wing : Asexual aromantic, he/they, cis Clear Sky : Heterosexual, he/him, trans man but he's probably the sort of trans man who tells other trans people that they aren't valid because they present differently Thunder : I wish I cared about thunder enough to have thoughts on him but he is the beigest character i have ever read about maybe only second to lionblaze i dont care about him his girlfriend fucked his dad why did she do that he creates the most boring clan ever and does literally nothing grey wing and clear sky are so interesting then you have to read a whole book about this man and i actually can't remember anything except from his girlfriend who deserves so much better than him why is he here he's so boring River Ripple (he's a protag to me) : Aromantic asexual, any pronouns, either genderfluid or agender
Other random characters i want to share my headcanons for because I feel particularly strongly about them
Rowanstar : Queer, he/him, trans man (obviously) Puddleshine : Demisexual homoromantic, xe/xem but they/them is okay, nonbinary Tall Shadow : Lesbian, he/she, views lesbian as her gender identity in a lot of ways Mousefur : Aromantic asexual, she/her, dont know about her gender Runningwind : Aromantic asexual, they/he, demiboy Redtail : Gay, he/him, trans man Sol : Queer, any pronouns, trans masc pangender Fallen Leaves : Sapphic, he/him, demigender Sleekwhisker : Lesbian, she/her, trans and she won't clarify in what way Mothwing : Lesbian, she/her, trans woman Cinderheart : Bisexual, she/they, girl to the left Cinderpelt : Bisexual, they/she, girl to the right Snowfur : Gay, he/him, trans man. PLEASE someone appreciate trans man snowfur he's so important to me Blackstar : Gay (bear), he/him, cis Fernsong : Going through every single gender and sexuality crisis everyday. Ended up settling on abrosexual, pronoun fluid and genderfluid but even then that might not stick. Ivypool somehow always knows what pronouns to use even if Fernsong hasn't told her yet Tallstar : Gay, he/wind, cis Jake : Pansexual, he/him and SO many neopronouns, cis Barley : Gay, he/him, trans man Darkstripe : the most toxic gay man you have ever met Hawkfrost : the second most toxic gay man you have ever met
this is SO many oh my god. i was planning to do a short list and now there's so many anyway i could go on for longer

I'm gonna be honest, I love The Starless Clan right now so I am going to talk about it!
Starless Clan spoilers below the cut!!
I LOVE THESE BOOKS!
Ok yeah they aren't great, but when I blissfully ignore the misogyny and bad female character writing it's so fun to read!
Like I love Nightheart, my trans nerodivergent loser. They are so stupid and silly
I like how Sunbeam is basically just "I want to be a background character to bad" and y'know what I love her and Nightheart.
I think it's funny when he shows up and she is basically like "woah we didn't talk about this, but because you are so stupid and pathetic I like you even more now"
Also it's super funny that her mom basically created a Republican party in shadowclan. Berryheart or whatever her name is sucked I'm so glad she got kicked out
And Frostpaw! Poor traumatized baby I love her. I love Curlfeather and Splashtail being evil, and I think it's funny that Splashtail is basically Hawkfrost but dumb loser(low-key have a whole map script made for this idea)
Anyways I love these books and I love women's wrongs <3 (Curlfeather)

So, Spottedleaf came second in the poll, so we'll be looking into her story next! Remember, this stuff is still up to change if i want it to.
(TW for talk of grooming)
We'll start with her parents, as thats where her story really begins. She was found as an abandoned kit with her brother by a thunderclan warrior. I'm not sure who, exactly, but when they bring the two back to camp, a queen, Cloudspeckle, offered to take them in. Cloudspeckle had recently lost her own litter, so she had plenty of milk for the little duo.
Spotted and Red are both natural tortoishells, and are both trans. They figured this out pretty early, coming out just before their apprentice ceremony. However, before their ceremony, we have some nursery stuff to cover.
Noteably, in relation to them and Tigerkit. See, Pinestar and Leopardfoot's relationship was always a bit rocky. Even in the early days, when Tigerkit was very young, Spotted and Red would always hear the two mates arguing. They acted fine in front of the clan, of course, but they never remembered the twins could hear them. They often stayed with Tigerkit and distracted him with his parents fought. They also helped distract Whitekit when his mother died.
Back to the apprentice ceremony, though. Spotted was assigned to a cat i've yet to decide on, but it can't be thrushpelt, as he's an apprentice alongside her. The apprentice group at the time was, in order of youngest to eldest, Spottedpaw, Redpaw, Sweetpaw, Thrushpaw, Rosepaw, Lionpaw, Goldenpaw, and Willowpaw. Within in a few moons, Willowpelt graduated and Tigerpaw, Frostpaw, Brindlepaw, and Whitepaw became apprentices.
This was, unfortunately, when Thistleclaw enters the story. Being assigned to Tigerpaw, and having already manipulated Whitepaw for all of his kithood, he turned his sights on Spottedpaw. The manipulation and grooming went on for moons, and Spottedpaw started acting differently from it. She became a fawner around adults, and isolated from the other apprentices, including her own brother.
Eventually, she became aware of what was happening to her, but believed Thistleclaw would bring her harm if she said anything, so she attempted to change paths instead. He couldn't continue if she was a medicine cat, right? She asked Featherwhisker to become his apprentice, but Featherwhisker had watched her grow up. He could tell something was wrong. She didn't say what, but once Featherwhisker picked up so something was wrong, it became scarily clear. He told her to stay in his den if she was ever afraid. She sat in there most days with him, after that.
By this point, though, she was old enough to get her warrior name. She should've gotten in moons ago, but due to Thistleclaw's treatment (and some manipulation towards her mentor), she kept failing her warriors test.
Once Featherwhisker noticed, he alerted her brother, as Cloudspeckle had passed by this point. He realised Cloudspeckle's passing must've helped Thistleclaw manipulate her further. Of course, Redtail was furious. And, soon enough, the rest of that generation was aware of it too.
Featherwhisker wanted to go to Sunstar, but Whitestorm knew full well that the leader wouldn't do anything. Pre-firestar thunderclan didn't intervene in mistreatment. But these ones did, and they started making up excuses to keep Thistleclaw away from Spottedpaw, even when all of them were warriors. And, after only a moon, Redtail came up with a plan.
So, Golden, Willow, and Brindle took Spottedpaw aside and kept her distracted, like she and red had done for Tiger all those moons ago. Meanwhile, Red, White, Lion, and Frost went on patrol with Thistleclaw, and killed him by the Riverclana border. Tigerclaw saw this from the bushes, and left silently before they noticed.
Thistleclaw did not go down without a fight, however, so the group were a bit injured. But they had accounted for this. Rose and Thrush "happened" to be escorting Featherwhisker to Riverclan camp for a herb trade, and they patched the group up before they headed back.
Whitestorm put on a spectacular performance as he pretended to grieve as he announced his father's death. Found by the medicine patrol, the border patrol had been ambushed by Riverclan and Thistleclaw had died in the scuffle. They said his body had been swept into the river, and were unable to find it. So sad, as they couldn't sit a proper vigil without a body. Oh well.
Sunstar only found out after the fact. It wasnt the best idea the group has ever had, as it sparked some tension between Thunderclan and Riverclan, but once Featherwhisker explained the situation to Riverclan's medicine cat, it mysteriously stopped. It was one of the only times Riverclan admitted fault. Falsely, this time.
After his death, though, Spottedpaw finally got her warrior name, almost a cycle and a half late. She picked Spottedcloud, in honor of her mother, and she became a fantastic warrior.
Slowly, she came back out of her shell, and into the adventurous rule-breaker she was known as, as a kit. It wasn't exactly the same, of course. She was still wary of large toms and fell into her fawning habits from time to time, but with time, she healed.
When Firepaw joined and Redtail died, she saw herself in him. She saw redtail in him, too. And she decided she'd protect this apprentice if it killed her. She became a big sister to him, which hurt her somewhat from her brother's recent passing, but it only spurred her on further.
She became something of a fourth member to the first arc trio, joining them on their rule-breaking, do-gooder journeys. When the camp was invaded, she nearly died to Clawface, but Featherwhisker fought valiantly to save her. She survived, but Featherwhisker did not. Whitestorm had to talk her into eating after the vigil ended.
She was brought in on the secret of Redtail's true death, and was pained to hear it. She had hoped Tigerclaw hadn't followed his mentor's cruelty. He seemed like a respectable, if gruff, warrior for so long that she struggled to believe it. But she knew denying it could get Ravenpaw killed, so she helped sneak the apprentice out to the barn with Fire and Grey. She acted distraught when she told Bluestar of the young tom's passing, killed on the border. She sorrowfully apologised to Tigerclaw for not saving his apprentice, really laying on the guilt as she tells him his final words were if Tigerclaw was proud. She'll always remember the way he squirmed under her gaze during that conversation.
Enjoying his discomfort didn't stop her from feeling betrayed by him. He had been mistreated by Thistleclaw too, and they had sort of bonded afterr his death. Not enough to be good friends, but enough to banter from time to time. Despite all of that, despite experiencing Thistleclaw's violence firsthand, he still manipulated and abused his apprentice.
And then, she was angry. She was angry at him, for the fear he'd caused to Ravenpaw. So, when Tigerclaw was outed as evil to the clans, she damn near chased him out of the camp herself.
She, alongside Sparrowstalk, Fireheart, Greystripe, and Ravenpaw, snuck into and were captured by Tigerclan's guards, and had to watch Paleflame be killed. She gave one last ditch effort to talk to Tigerclaw, a distraction to let the others escape, before he noticed them sneaking off, and she fought him tooth and claw. Neither died, but she was hurt, and only managed to get away because of rebellion leader Deerfoot of Shadowclan, who was executed shortly after she fled.
With a new set of scars, one and a half ears, and new anger, she and Brightheart helped Lynxshine stockpile herbs for the all-clans fight. She stood proudly on Lionclan's side and brought down a Bloodclan warrior twice her size alongside Frostfur.
Her end came, though, when a bloodclan warrior went for Firestar, and she leaped in the way. She was killed, but quickly avenged by Frostfur and Sweetflower, as Firestar was fighting Scourge. The warrior who killed her did not survive the fight by any means.
After the fight ended, and the clans were heading back to camp, Spottedcloud was carried alongside Whitestorm to be laid next to Redtail, Rosetail, and Lionheart's graves.
Her memory lives on, passed down from various cats in various ways. Tangleburr- Deerfoot's sister- tells the story of the tortoishell warrior who helped the rebellion save dozens of cats by taking on a leader single-pawed. Onestar tells the story of a molly who helped bring Windclan home in their hour of need. Ravenpaw tells the story of a wildcat warrior who helped save him from his abusive mentor. Goldenflower tells the story of a young cat who survived despite everything that happened to her. Even Bloodclan tells the story of a cat so brave, she fought until her last breath to protect her family.
And Firestar tells the story of his big sister, who helped him through everything from crushes to dictators, who's faith in him never once wavered.
Even after Firestar's death, Sandstorm, and Squirrelflight, and Alderheart, and even Scourge himself, keep telling the story of Spottedcloud.

This is a genuine question! Would Moonpaw in your world be Intersex? And how would the clans view it? I worry due to how in canon, the clans can seem...sexist towards female cats, and I don’t know how they'd react to a intersex cat.
BB!Moonpaw is going to be intersex yes
It's actually seen as very special! Clan culture's concept of gender is Trinary. There are THREE genders, and none of them match completely to the US/UK's concept of gender roles.
1. "Woman"/Molly/Yaow.
Given to AFAB cats by default. This gender is expected to have an active, argumentative role in the Clan. They are socialized to have a domineering and active role in their personal relationships, while also doing the emotional and physical labor of taking care of their camp and kits.
The "Bailey" to a tomcat's "Motte." They are supposed to be the secondary, smarter, more deadly line of defense against threats.
2. "Man"/Tom/Ssuf.
Given to AMAB cats by default. This gender is expected to be passive but protective, giving ground to a molly or a gib who "understands the nuances of camp better." They're socialized to spend more time out of the camp and do more hunting and patrolling than their counterparts.
The gender is named for the sound of spraying, as marking territory is what Ssuf cats are most associated with.
In these genders, being trans is more normalized than not living according to the roles. They have a different idea of being queer compared to us!
"Third Gender"/Gib/Meewa.
This doesn't translate into English very well. We would call it nonbinary by our standards, but this is a full gender role to Clan cats.
Gibs can be assigned at birth when they display sacred signs, such as closely resembling a dead nyams, having extra claws, being perfectly identical twins, or having intersex traits. It is a role associated with wisdom, conflict resolution, and long-term planning.
They are often socialized to be more intuitive and spiritual, but from a young age they might get given more responsibility than they're ready for. Especially if they're silver or gray, a color associated with wisdom.
I usually keep using the pronouns from canon because of 1. Simplicity since the whole fandom is used to them, 2. The fact that Clanmew doesn't use gendered pronouns anyway, and 3. It helps keep my xey/xem drops more special. But a LOT of cats are actually meewa in-universe.
Gray Wing the Wise
Yellowfang
Deadfoot
Ashfoot
Whitestorm
Spottedleaf
Blackstar
Waspwhisker/star
Duckfur
Kestrelflight
Cinderheart
Poppyfrost
Jayfeather
Dovewing
Shadowsight
There are also cats who have transitioned away from being Meewa. This is how both Hazeltail and Mousewhisker, identical twins, are transfem and transmasc respectively. I am planning for Frostpaw to ALSO transition out of the meewa gender, she will be transfem.
So Moonpaw, with xeir half-moon face, intersex traits, and connection to the moonpool? That is a DEAD RINGER for a meewa-gendered gib. The only thing she's missing is any amount of gray. I am going to use She/Xey for her going foward.
(I can see her receiving something silvery as a gift someday. Probably from one of her parents-- I'm currently leaning towards FlipBay or ShellFern PRETTY hard, and Flipclaw or Fernstripe would do something like that I think.)
(Fern would be more of a trader though I think. I feel like she's not very dexterous, but WICKED smart. Flip is discovering a talent for toymaking.)
This is actually a part of BB's Clan Culture reworks I play a lot more loosely than other bits, but it's still a lot of fun!

Moon 238-Leaf-bare
ElementClan welcomes four new warriors. Shinepaw (13) is now Shinebreak, honoring her intelligence. She’s glad to be a warrior, but wishes her brother could be there with her. Skippaw (13) is now Skipneedle in honor of her sincerity. Creekstar (92) appreciates her telling her about her visions, even though she didn’t have to. Brightpaw (13) is now Brightmouse, honoring her caution, a rare trait in fire-blessed cats. And Frostpaw (13) is now Frostblotch, honoring her amity. Bluepaw (13) is now the only one of the fearsome foursome who’s still an apprentice. Hopefully she’ll join her sisters soon. In other news, Tumbleswoop has come out as a trans tom! Tumbleswoop (27) has also been feeling a bit disconnected from the Clan lately and goes to Hopedawn (27) to ask for help. She reminds him to always reach out to his family when he needs it. She’ll always be there for him. Paleburst (17) appreciates how Kestrelcreek (27) is so laid back and takes care of herself. He adds a bit of her fluff to his nest. Nettlepaw (7) feels like he should be a warrior already and is annoyed that Creekstar insists he’s not ready. Despite almost being apprenticed, Lilackit (5) is still whining for milk. He really just wants to spend some more time with his mom. Almondpaw (9) has reached his angsty teenage phase and is ignoring Vaxxstreak’s (124) instructions. Instead, he wanders off on his own during a patrol and brings a kit back to camp. Fun. She’s a quiet, powerless little girl named Blizzardkit (1). Meanwhile, Streampaw (9) is listening intently to Spotfoot (19) in hopes that he’ll pick up on something that could be useful for making progress in controlling his powers. Blizzardkit is not the only new cat to join this moon. A former kittypet joins the Clan with a broken back. Creekstar remembers how the cats with broken backs fared when she was young; aka, not well. Safariaster (145) decides to do her best for this water-blessed tom named Sweet Marmalade (23).

Update on A Starless Clan: I finished Sky and can confidently say that everyone and their mother saw Nightbeam coming from the start
Also Sunbeams pov is literally just 15 or so chapters of “are the allos okay”
Also if Shadowsight and Frostpaw don’t become besties I will cry
Also I’d been hoping Blazefire was aroace and was disappointed
Also is it just me (a cis girl) or are there trans undertones in Nighthearts pov

Starless Clan Thoughts 2:
Partway into the second book of "A Starless Clan", some more comprehensive thoughts (spoilers for the first two books, and maybe spoilers for the rest of the arc that’s out too?):
A) Wow! after just a year or so of catching up I am now reading the current, unfinished arc!
B) Going in I heard that Sunbeam and Nightheart were gonna be an item, specifically that their relationship followed a trajectory suspiciously similar to BristleRoot, so of course I was dreading that. But so far I like their interactions much better than BristleRoot, at least looking at them through the lens of "these two are gonna be together romantically eventually".
Some compare contrasts:
BristleRoot meeting: Bristlepaw saves Rootpaw's life, he develops an instant crush and she's like "yeah ok kid, I got my own crush to deal with."
SunHeart meeting: Sunbeam and Flamepaw meet at a couple gatherings. First time he gets huffy cause she comments about the fact that he doesn't look like a Flamepaw (he's an all-black cat and his entire arc is being upset that he was named Flamekit after his great-grandpa Firestar). At their second meeting they actually talk, after Flamepaw's failed his assessment the second time and Sunbeam's gotten friendzoned, and they have a sweet moment of validating each others' feelings.
BristleRoot early days: Rootpaw continues having crush, Bristlefrost is embarrassed about it and just wishes he'd stop popping up.
SunHeart early days: They're going on an adventure together, and they actually have debates about the changing warrior code/discussions about their values. And!!! Sunbeam actually describes him as /handsome/ in her POV! Literally that's all I ask, /some/ indication that the female character actually desires the guy she's getting matched with and it's not just cosmic wish fulfillment for him!!
That's all the comparisons I can make so far, until I read more. But yeah this is a relationship I actually enjoy reading a little, which almost never happens with the Hunters' "romances".
C) I also heard that Nightheart is incredibly whiny so I wasn't looking forward to that, but honestly he seems p reasonable for the first book. Like he messes up and gets really frustrated about it, but it's kinda understandable. He tries to show off in his first two assessments and it backfires, and he feels unjustly punished especially because in the second assessment he makes an impressive catch but is failed because his decision to risk fighting a hawk over a piece of prey was a stupid risk to take. He's more annoying in his first couple chapters of the second book, but what really makes them frustrating is a combination of him whining about having to "prove himself" while also continuing to opt for risky prove himself maneuvers instead of just getting some dang prey, and also the fact that his entire clan is /super/ unreasonable about his name change. Literally his mother and sister have basically disowned him for not wanting to be named "Firestar Fireson". And it just feels obnoxious in a too real way on their part, given the way that so many trans/enby folks are treated by their family when wanting to change the way they're identified.
D) Between some spoilers I heard about Frostpaw and her mom Curlfeather, and the way Sunbeam's mom is acting, I feel like this arc is gonna be an "evil moms" arc and I am here for it.
E) I’m really excited that we’re actually seeing the cats have relationships with their clanmates!! Sunbeam has two friends (two more than the average protag) and Frostpaw has that guy (Splashtail?) who was skeptical of her at first but supports her in her accidental leadership role now.
F) Bramblestar really needs to retire, with that change they made to the warrior code. Not only because he’s a bad leader, but also ‘cause of all the PTSD he and his clanmates have. Him from being in the dark forest, them from Imposterstar being slightly more evil than him.
Overall, I have mildly positive feelings for this arc. Definitely not as excited as I was at this point reading the broken code, and I know it’s gonna get much worse after the third book, but I’m interested to see where it goes in books 2/3.
